The Hill of Tara

The Hill of Tara is located close to the River Boyne in Country Meath, It is said that 142 High Kings reigned in prehistoric times from this location. For this reason it got the name “seat of the High Kings” . At that time the site was believed to be the resting place for the Gods and an entrance to the other world. At the site there is a visitor centre and guided tours, the site also has free entrance. If you have an interest in archaeology you will find this a pleasant day trip.
